Description

No signs in the blue-tiled building called „Maison le Mali“.
Walk to the end of the corridor on ground floor. Then go through the white, barred gate on the left of the end „square“ of the corridor.
Take the first door to your left.
The consul‘s secretary works behind the brown door just straight, right next to the couch where other applicants wait.

There are copyshops in the building and around, in case you need it. People will show you.

Very helpful people. One month multi-entry visa on the spot for 45,000 cfa for US passport.

Latest Check-Ins

Nowadays tourist visa must get approved by the authorities in Mali and neither the nice lady nor the consul can speed it up. We waited a week and visited them 3 times without success.

We were asked for an invitation letter, a picture and passport copy and the lady asked us to please only travel by air if we should get the visa granted. (That was our plan anyway but without visa we didn’t book a flight yet).
You fill out the application form once with the lady.
She will take your number and will call you (in our case to tell us a copy she made wasn’t readable).
You pay after confirmation from Bamako and only if you get the visa. In our case, we gave up after a week. We were told by embassy staff it’s complicated nowadays for european passports. We have german passport, maybe it’s because they threw the german military out? Be prepared for a long waiting process.

Report Check-In

Paid 45k for a 3 month visa (same price for one month, seems to be the minimum fare).
The lady said it could take up to one day to proceed and softly suggested that a "gift" could speed up the process.
No gift handed and she called me an hour later to pick up my passport.
By the way I got a multiple entry visa, which I didn't ask for.

The consular office is at the end of the gallery, on the ground floor of the blue tiled "Immeuble Mali". Security guards will point you to the right direction.
