Latest Check-Ins

As described by britta_borderless further down below.
If you follow the given instructions, no complications at all, very friendly staff.
We received the visas/our passports the day after we first visited the embassy to fill in the application form (you need to enlist an adress in Côte d'Ivoire, but are not required to show a hotel reservation, so you can just pick something up from the Internet, we guess.)

Report Check-In

Unfortunately now Mr. Koudou is in charge of delivering the visas, not Mr. Fanny, whom I met and who told me that he had just come back from Ivory Coast (where he stayed a month or so due to family issues), and that during his absence Mr. Koudou had taken over (unfortunately).
Anyway. I did everything as "britta_borderless" described (thanks a lot btw) - paid for the visa online on https://www.snedai-visardv.ci/visa/ (click on "Paiement code RDV", it's 58 bucks), forwarded the payment confirmation to Mr. Fanny (back then I thought he was still in charge of the visas) and his colleague Mr. Bamba (who is really nice but unfortunately not in charge). Afterwards Mr. Bamba sent me an email telling me to have my picture and yellow fever vaccination certificate ready. He didn't say anything else so I just showed up at the embassy and there I met Mr. Koudou, who gave me a form to fill and photocopied my passport and all the other papers. The only copy I had to provide was that of my picture. Anyway, after making slightly less than welcome jokes about my hypothetical marriage, he told me to come back the next day. But then before I could leave a couple of foreigners showed up and Mr. Koudou suddenly decided to lead us into the waiting room and to make very racist comments about Asian people (a poor Chinese tourist who spoke no French was sitting there, bothering no one).
Only after telling us how bad Asian people were and some other bullshit like that did he suddenly tell me to get the hell out as my visa "wouldn't be ready until the next day, 3pm, like I told you already". So I ran off (I was too happy to escape) and came back the next day at 2pm, because I had seen on the embassy's doors that 3pm was actually closing time. Obviously when I arrived, Mr Koudou said the visa wasn't ready yet. So I waited about an hour (listening to Mr. Koudou's endless blabla about me marrying a guy from Ivory Coast), until finally he got me the visa :).
So, my advice is: follow the steps, ignore the inappropriate comments, check the opening hours of the embassy before coming, and be patient. And you'll get your visa :)
(Honestly compared to what I experienced to get my Guinean visa, Ivory Coast wasn't that bad ^^).

Report Check-In

Not even a remotely smooth process for me or the other foreigners there the day i arrived. I followed all the instructions as detailed below, but had the following experience: The office was closed Monday because CDI won the African Cup. Came back at 9am Tuesday, filled out my form and waited to be seen. Was told to go make photocopies of following: front page of passport, guinea visa page, CDI visa payment page, and yellow fever vaccine, along with one photo. They did not offer to do any photocopies there, but thankfully there is a shop around the corner where the lady is very accustomed to this and will do it all for you. Also, I am traveling without a smartphone and need wifi in order to use my tablet, and this girl found some way around it to Bluetooth my documents to herself. Anyway, went back to the embassy, and was told all would be ready at 4pm. When I went back, I waited another half hour, and then was told that the boss was not there and that the visas wouldn't be ready until the following day. Came back on day 3- visa ready, but had to endure several racial slurs/remarks from the official until I could get my passport back- the first I've had from a grown, presumably educated, man in the year I've spent in Africa. I should mention that I didn't see or hear of Mr Fanny. I had the displeasure of dealing with Mr koudou for all of this, and no amount of politeness or acquiescence could make him at all nicer or easier to deal with. Everyone else at the embassy, though, (guards, other administrators) was great. Opening hours 9-12:30, 1:30-4:30.

Report Check-In

We did everything as described including email to Mr. Fanny and Mr. Oumar.
Due to the Africancup Championship today everything was closed. We came here the next day and as described in the comment before, there was another man working on the Visa and he asked for copies of everything. We said, that we already came twice and asked him, if he wants us to go for copies now. After that he did all the copies in the Embassy and said, that we can get the Visa at 16:00. arriving there at 16:00 the Visa were not ready and he told us to come the next day. So we had to go there in total 4 times. It seems, that they are not working all at the same level. It all depends on who’s on duty when you come there.

Report Check-In

Wasn’t that smooth for us. We had to submit copies of our passports, the Guinea visa, Yellow Fever and Online Payment. After accepting our documents at 1 pm he said to return the next day at 3 pm. But when we arrived the next day the embassy was closed unexpectedly and no one was there. So we had to return a third time on Friday where luckily the embassy was open again.

Report Check-In

Did exactly as „brigitta_borderless“ described and it went very smooth.
Mr. Fanny is really nice. We applied at 11, visa was ready at 16:00. no extra fees, very straightforward.
You yourself pick the entry dare and from that date on you have 90 days in the country.

Although we arrived on a Friday at 2 pm Mr. Fanny managed to get our visa ready in one hour.

On Fridays they close at 3 pm. Also watch out for prayer time.

Report Check-In

I could sent the proof of payment directly per Mail to Mr. Fanny. Also no copies needed for Vaccines and Passport, as they do it there. Only thing needed is two photos, but you can do these just outside 50m away from the embassy. Monday 13.00 applied, next day at 8.00 picked up. Very professional and nice people that work there.

Report Check-In

Visa secured in a few hours thanks to an excellent service. Be polite and kind and it should be quick. Regarding the laissez passer: since Ivory Coast re opened its borders in Feb 2023 the LP are apparently no longer delivered by the Embassy nor needed. I crossed the border without an LP. There were two of us. No problems at all.

Report Check-In

Very easy and friendly.
If you wanna pay with Franc Guinea cash, its 1,200,000GNF.
Pay with credit card via SNEDAI.com, it's 58€. Do not apply as Evisa, this payment is called "Visa at embassy" in the website. After payment they gave me the application documents.
About the valid dates for visa, you can freely choose when filling out the application documents.

Report Check-In

The previous entry is all correct.

I got there at 1000 on a Friday and was waiting until 1400 to be seen because the staff weren't around. At least the waiting room has AC. Once I was seen it was all very straightforward and I had the visa in 30 minutes.

Ivory coast visa in Conakry

Pay 58 euros for the visa in advance in this website (is weird but worked for me and other travelers): https://snedai.com/
-Services en Ligne
-Visa Dans Les Embassades de Cote d' Ivoire
-2-Paiement click in the link
-Suivant
-Fill form
-Give credit card details

After you pay you will have a payment receipt with a barcode, print this to bring to embassy. You can also do the same process in a computer in the embassy but will take longer.

With the paper arrive at embassy, meet the consulat services, give one passport photo, copy of passport, COVID vaccination, yellow fiver vaccination. He will give a form and you fill. I put my home address of Guinea (a hotel) and address in Ivory Coast (a hotel) told I was going by land from Liberia and showed my Liberia visa. He didn't asked flight proofs of accomodation proof.

I dropped passport and my local phone number, he said to come pickup next day in afternoon.

All good, visa in hands! They gave 3 months!

We didnt have time in Conakry to go to the embassy ourselves so we used a fixer for the Visa Côte d´Ivoire. Its Madame KABA, +224 610 96 96 96. She is on WhatsApp, speaks french and english, cost 300k Francs Guinéen. Quite expansive, but her employee come at your place and take care of the photos and photocopies for you. She is very professionnal (she is French-Guinean, she lived in Paris all her life and studied in London) and can take care of other Visas if you need, like for Ghana.

Report Check-In

I was able to drop off my visa request at the Côte d’Ivoire embassy in Conakry. It was a smooth process:
Sylvain, the consulate employee, accepted my online payment (58€ on the SNEDAI website) and didn’t ask for any more money, he was very professional. He filled out the form for me.

Docs requested: copy of yellow fever vaccine, 1 ID photo, 1 copy of passport identification page, receipt of online payment (58€). He also asked for the copy of the covid vaccination proof which I hadn’t printed out, I just showed it on my phone and he said it was ok.

As for the laisser passer: he said that they’ve received new guidelines to clarify the LP process. Apparently this document is issued ONLY to Ivorian nationals who have lost their passport and need to travel back to their country. As an exception, they do issue LP for foreigners who travel by land but ONLY IF they have a motorbike or a car. For those like me who travel via public transportation, he didn’t really know what to do… He will call his colleagues at the border of Nzérékoré to know more about it.

French travelers. We did our visa for ivory coast. Done in 4 hours without paying extra charge.

700 000 Francs Guineen per person for the Visa.
300 000 Francs Guineen for the laisser passer. (this is for crossing the border as it's officially close) Without it you can not cross the border. You can do this Laisser passer in Kissidougou olso.

They keep your Passeport during the process and they do all the copy.
It's the ambassador who confirm the visa, so if he is not here you will wait.

Be care for the laisser passer, apparently the price depend on your car... The guy told us 800 000 when we ask, but we new that it was only 300 000, so he went to see our car (landrover discovery) and he said that it's 300 000...
The two guys where very nice and helpful.

You can park your car just near the ambassy, it's supervise.
The ambassy is orange with a big sign, you can not miss it.

Report Check-In

Friendly staff, but also quite a bunch of tricksters. Got the IC visa for my friend in 3 days, no problems, 60€. Then asked for a laisser passer and got one for 50€, which seemed leggit but is useless in IC, customs ask for vignette touristique which is not issued at border of Guinea and IC but in Man.

Report Check-In

Extremely polite staff, but quite a complicated process. We needed to provide:
Passport photo x1
Copy of Guinea visa x1
Copy of passport x1
Proof of job/profession (practicing certificate or letter explaining your position using your work’s letterhead)
Letter to the ambassador explaining your trip (a guy across the road who is affiliated with the embassy wrote ours and printed the profession letters/practising certificate for 20,000 GF)
Visa application (one of the embassy officers wrote ours for us)
Fee of 630,000 GF (60 euros)

Available next day in the afternoon.

If I could turn back time I would have got our visas in Bissau as the process is much more simpler and cost is a fraction of the cost here (15,000 CFA which is less than 20 euros).
