Latest Check-Ins

Easy peasy, I crossed with the Nzerekoré - Man bus. Got the passport stamped easily and had to show my yellow fever vaccination. The vaccine guy kept asking semi-jokingly about expecting a gift, but I smiled and said nothing and it was all good ;) To note that they can also vaccinate you on the spot if you don't have your yellow booklet with you.

Report Check-In

As described below-uncomplicated boarder with VERY friendly officers, no bribes requested.

Wrote our information in a book (passport details, parents' names, profession, telephone), took pictures of us / us with our caravan and we were free to go.
(No question regarding Yellow Fever Certificate nor route in Côte d'Ivoire nor hotel details)

Whole procedure (we arrived at the boarder at approx. 6 PM and we were the only ones crossing) took about 30 minutes.

From Guinea to Côte d'Ivoire.
Super friendly officers. I was traveling by bus and we arrived very late (probably around 7pm), yet the frontiere was still open (they actually don't close - and I just noticed that it was indicated above ^^). Anyway, there were no guys sitting outside so I couldn't wave at them like the comments below recommended, but when I gave the officers my passport, they showed me to an office where a guy, Basil, checked my visa and got me the stamp in five minutes. He was super nice and we chatted for a while while waiting for the other passengers to finish the health check. He even shared his dinner with me :) Really nice guy, very friendly.
(However, I'd advise against traveling by minibus by night from this frontier to Man. It was full of police controls, more often than not corrupt - one even requested to search all bags and threatened to arrest all those who carried meds or pills. I got through only because I had a French passport and so they didn't search my bag...)

Report Check-In

Easy and very friendly border.
Be prepared, that they want to know your travel in the Ivory Coast, esspacially the Hotel for the first night.
We took officially Hotel in Danane (40km) and told our Main Route (Danane - Man - Capital town - Abidjan - Ghana) and all was fine.
They took pictures from the truck and us, CPD is stamped about 8km away. It is marked at Ioverlander, too.

Report Check-In

Entering CI.Easy border crossing but it takes time. They will take pictures of all the people in the car and also a picture of the car. They say it is for security.

Guinée => CDI. Very easy crossing. Agree with earlier post re: saying hi to the guys sitting outside. They saw me walking with a big crowd of people from my bus, and called me over. After a short chat about whether or not I should have my hair cut, they brought me into a little office and got me all sorted within minutes. No solicitation of anything and they even let me choose where in my passport to put the stamp :D

Report Check-In

Guinea -> CDI

First to health, they check Yellow Fever certificate.

Then immigration, easy but a little slow.
Passports stamped.
All good.

Report Check-In

Leaving Ivory Coast to Guinée.

Theofficials were very slow, but all was good.

First you go to health, then they stamp the exit.

They copy down our details from the passport... And eventual took a picture from our passport. So... Maybe they need to copy based on the original and not on a photo. 😅

Go figure it out. 😂

Quick entry to CI. Say hello to the young outside border staff in uniforms - they’ll fast track you past the lineup’s straight to the Chief Kevin. He processed me in 10 minutes - stamped in - on my way. Very friendly and quick border folks. One of the better West Africa border experiences.
No LP. I had CI visa issued in Conakry.

Guinea to Ivory Coast
Very very slow but easy crossing. They first checked our yellow fever vaccination (they didn’t check for Covid). After we went to an office and the official asked us a lot of questions about our journey and ourselves and took plenty pictures. It took about an hour.
Friendly but slow :))

Report Check-In

We spent 2 nights here as our Ivorian visas were ending and our Guinean e-visas were not ready yet. We parked at the bridge and with the agreement of the Ivorian officers (thanks to M. Kevin Kouamé) we stayed here for the weekend. A small path at the "COTE D'IVOIRE" sign leads to a pretty, very refreshing riverside spot.

Report Check-In

Laissez passer not needed anymore. They didn't check COVID vaccination. Only yellow fever certificate and they measure your temperature.

Report Check-In

Don't bother going here without a Laissez-Passer. They said Ivory Coast will refuse entry for sure like had happened before.

They gave me phone number (+224622004068) of Pierre the (Dishounerly) consulate in Nezerekore. His office is at 7.7382431, -8.8157227. Was closed on Sunday but he answered on WhatsApp.
He demanded 1.500.000 for the LP
I don't want to support corruption so I refused.
He called me many times probably to offer a cheaper price but I refuse. I was sick of this so I went south towards Sierra Leona instead. I got my LP there.

Very friendly even if they look « hard » at the beginning for some of them. A smile and everything is fine :) as it’s said before, health check, passeport stamped and then control and pictures ! Don’t forget the laissez passer, you won’t enter without it until they cancel it for security reasons :)

Report Check-In

IC -> Guinea
Easy, checked our Laissez-passer, wrote some information on a paper, stamped the passport and took a photo of the car.

Entry in Ivory Coast, easy, friendly officers !

1. Health office. An officer will take your temperature, Check your yellow fever vaccination and covid vaccination
2. Immigration Office. Stamp for the passport and control of the Laisser Passer
3. Another team will take in picture your passport, Ivorian visa and Laisser Passer + a picture of you in front of your vehicle #paparazzimomement

45 minutes for all of this ;)

French travelers. Going to Ivory Coast from Guinea.
They stamped our Passeport, checked our yellow fever carnet and our laissez passer.
Friendly staff we where here the day of the independence... So we wait like 3hours until the officials arrived.

Report Check-In

friendly, but do not try to bribe them. they got really angry.

Besides the Visa you need the lassé passé to enter, which you can only get in the ambassy office from Mister Pierre (+224 622004068) in Ñ'zérékoré. They told us that to buy a bicycle cause we did not have any vehicle. We ended up finding another traveller with a car and entered with him. Payed 300 000 each for the laissez passer.

Report Check-In

Building looks quite new. Friendly and easy procedure. One guy did indeed take pictures of us and our passports, visas etc. but explained to us that they send all the details to the immigration data base via phone since they don't have computers or internet connection so far. Did not ask for anything. Since it was already dark they let us sleep in front of the police station.

Report Check-In

Easy border crossing, going to Ivory Coast.
Asked yellow fever carnet, passport and visa.

Report Check-In

The guy who stamp in no issues.
But, a police named Amani, he wrote all the information about me and my journey, and take picture of me and my bike. He was playing some game with me.
By the end, he ask something. I refused, he still give me his business card, ask me don’t send to other officers.
Other guys are easy and straight forward.

here. Very friendly and easy. I found it a nice border post to cross into Guinea

Coming from Guinea to Ivory Coast.
First anti-drug search
Then immigration. It was a busy day but still went fine.
We entered one day prior to our visa starting and either they did not see or they did not care. No one bothered us about this.

Report Check-In

Next to customs, they also checked our Yellow Fever/vaccination booklets. No problems getting through, fast procedure.
