I got my nigerian visa here, still possible, but it's a hard work.

You need to be resident to apply for the visa, but it's possible to get a residence certificate in just one day.

First need to pay the tax, for that go to the Direction Regionale Des Impots Du Centre (write this in google maps) If you don't speak french it's a bit hard, go to the small offices in the left building, there is a friendly person who will fill the document for you, you can't pay the tax without it. You need a local adress for that, it's not just to give a random adress, you need a local friend who tell you the exact adress (there neiborhood numbers, and also numbers for all the buildings).
After pay the tax you have to go to the Mairie to take the residence. I went to the one close to the airport, but it depends on your adress.
I was host in the Hotel Kavana and Malik who work there and speak perfect spanish helped me with the adress.

When you have the residence, you can apply for the visa at the embassy. It took to me around one week.
You need also a letter of invitation of someone with a nigerian passport, a flight ticket, hotel booking and photos.

I had to say that I was living in Burkina Faso, it's better to prepare the storie, as they will ask why are you living there. Also say I was going to fly and the fly back to Ouagadougou.
At the end they didn't want to give me the visa saying that I should been living in Burkina for at least 3 months before aply. I told him to change that number on my application form, so he wouldn't have problem when they check the visa application Nigeria, so he agreed, and I changed the number saying I arrived 3 months ago.
After that, I got my visa. The staff in the embassy are friendly, despite the ask many question and they don't make it easy.

Things are changed also here. Visa only for resident. I've got mine together with a swiss guy after we both took residency (takes no more then 2 hoursj. To do so:
1. Find an address for which you will ask residency
2. Go to Bureau des Impostes (i will add the position) and pay the residency tax; in my case they asked 7000 CFA
3. Ask for a "certificat d'identité et de residence" (this may be obtained in any police station or at Police Immigration in the city center)
With these documents in your hands, at the embassy they required:
1x form (you will get it at the embassy)
2x pictures
1x passport photocopy
1x invitation letter+ photocopy of the host passport+ visa/residency proof
1x certificat d'identité et de residence (this may be obtained in any police station or at Police Immigration in the city center). Bring the original document, not a copy!
1x tax receipt (not sure is in the official loat, he just wanted to see it for a second)
Italian passport: 52000 CFA. Valid for entrance within 1 month.

Got my visa here today with a US passport. Applied Tuesday at 10:00, picked it up Friday at 14:00. Requirements were: two photos, passport copy, a filled out form, which you do there, and 92,000 CFA. I had a letter of invitation, which seemed to make it possible for a non Burkina resident to get the visa.

They still give tourist visas for overlanders here!

June 2018
We got our visas here at the same time that a german overlander also got it. 1 month single entry and we have 1 month to enter. This last thing maybe is negociable, when we came to pick up the visas the secretary said that the visa will start from today, we said that we applied to enter in a month, he went inside to ask the consul and came back saying there was no problem the visa could start in 1 month.

Spanish 85.000 CFA
US 88.000 CFA
German 77.000 CFA (or 74.000, I forgot)

It takes 48h to be issue, and you need to bring:
-2 passport pictures
-Photocopy passport
-Booking in a hotel in Nigeria

You can only apply from 10am to noon.
And you can pick it up the day after next day at 10am.

If you call they take the phone and they are nice.

Seems that we are the first ones who have problems here with the visa. They told us from now you need a official approved letter of invitation with stamps. The whole procedure can take a few days, and maybe they will add new demands. We left and try now in Cotonou. This was last week of March 2018

Finally got our Nigerian Visa here. Easy and nice, as described.

We also had a letter of introduction (not needed) and a letter of invitation with corresponding passport and residency copy. But I think a Hotel Booking should do to. We were asked some Questions in a little Interview, seemed like Smalltalk.

Fee varies across Nationalities. German Passport was 70.000 CFA for 3 Month. Visa is also valid for 3 Month.
