Parking near fish and rice restaurant. When we were there it was not used. Plenty of space and a nice view on the old city and the harbor. Quiet place, though at 21:00 there was some modern music played somewhere. You can get ok cellular data here.

There is no fish market anywhere near here, so no noise, no smell, few people. you can park anywhere between this location (the small fish and rice restaurant) and the port Gates, you can park near (or walk to) the area where the trucks park closer to the gate and you'll find sandwich places, coffee and tea, and they sell a very sweet hibiscus drink that is really awesome. They offered me jelly and cheese sandwich, I'm sure it is better than it sounds. They have eggs for sandwiches and probably would sell you some eggs.
There might be toilets here too since the truckers are here for days and I don't smell urine.
The fish restaurant seems to be mostly a lunch place so best eat fresh when the most people are there. They have Coke, Sprite, and bottled water.
across the bay is a 3000 year old island ruins of the old city. built using coral dug from the sea, most of the buildings have completely collapsed cost is 20 SDG.
This whole area is built on the coral remains of the old city and the 'gravel' is actually mostly coral.
