Description

Tourist centre for Wli falls. Arrange guides here. There is a fixed price list. For simply the lower fall's your can easily walk alone

For the upper falls you do need a guide. I paid 40 on the price list for just the lower fall's. i wanted to do 'the loop' which was 60. They said you pay the 40 and then arrange the extra with the guide. Fine by me. I said to the guide id give the extra 20, plus 5 on top. And i bought him food and water which i carried as he has no bag. I explained this was all inclusive, tip and everything as i dont like th awkward give me more moment at the end as i find it sours the memory

Loop takes about 4-5 hours based on fitness. A lot of accent in the beginning. And also a section of climbing down. No problems but good footwear is a must. Worth the walk. Very beautiful hike

At the lower falls you could easily send your guide home as its an easy straight walk. My guide, Sebastian. Played the popular game of give me more on paying what we agreed. Despite how clear I'd been earlier. So. I'd recommend being even firmer when agreeing the price

Also. Somebody was camping at the lower falls. So you could walk there and camp. You'd need to pay someone something i suspect. But it was being done

Latest Check-Ins

Togo loop was good scenery, set off early at 6am to avoid the sun. 12km distance with stops twice to swim at the falls, we saw no other tourists on the day we visited. You can kind of argue a bit on price, some people we met before said they paid 130 each, but they tried to charge us 140, I said we were students and they gave it to us for 110.

For the mandatory guide we requested James as per the good review on here. A nice lad, but he came on strong with the Jesus talk, saying we will burn in hell with the devil as non-believers, so best to stay clear of any religious conversation. I gave 80 tip

There 3 tours at the Board, but you can ask for more tours.
We did the Togo loop (about 7h, with 2h breaks at the falls), cost 130cedi/ P.

We had James at our guide (mentions below, too). Nice guy and he knows a lot about the nature and the area. You can book him, if you give a call in advance (number see below, other comments) or write him on Insta: naturetour_ghana

The waterfalls are highly recommend!

we did the lower and the upper falls with no guide (80 Cedi per person). just had to write in a book that we do it on our own risk.
the walk to lower fall is very easy. if you don't like hiking you don't need to do the upper falls. the lower falls are anyways nicer.
they try to scare you that the track to the upper falls is too dangerous but it's pretty easy if you are used to hikes.

Definitely worth visiting. If you're in for an adventure you should definitely do a bigger loop than just the lower falls. You can do the Ghana loop (90 cedi pp) or the Togo loop (130 cedi pp). They are similar in regards to visiting both the lower and upper falls, but the Togo loop goes around the whole area and plateau, instead of having the same path twice for a bit as with the Ghana loop. We did the Togo loop and had a lot of fun. You have some awesome sights over the waterfall and get the chance to swim at both the upper and lower falls.

We had James as our guide. A fun young man full of energy. You can see he has grown up in the area and the jungle is his playground. He has just left high school, but is amazingly smart and knowledgeable of the area. We met a few other guides here as well and James is definitely way more fun to have. He will take the time to show you around, will wait for you to take photos and he let us taste about 10 different fruits from the jungle. Super fun! The other guides were making fun of him because of this, but as a visiter this is actually what makes a trip like this. Kudos to him for that. You can reach him through whatsapp on +233 543774897

For the waterfalls, we paid 80 cedi pp to make the big loop (upper and lower waterfalls) and we gave tips to the guide at the end ! We did the hike in 5h, including the swimm break ;)

We were allowed to camp on the campground close to the tourist office for 50 cedi per vehicule - there are toilets, bucket shower and water tank ! Friendly people around.

Now the price is 90 cedi for non Ghanaians plus 40 cedi for local community. On top of that you tip the guide.

We did the loop hike to the upper falls, guide is compulsory. Paid 60C per person's which I think is rather expensive and you pay the guide what you want at the end, we gave him 40C as he was excellent. He's Edmond, the same guy who runs the great restaurant just accross the street, he didn't ask for more and was super polite and pleasant all the time, just ask for him! The hike is quite steep and the descent is especially tricky, but amazing views and the falls are totally worth it. Lower falls are just as good but more people.

we walked to the lower falls and we did it without a tourguide ! We wrote a memo in their book, that we will make it without guide on our own risk ;-) but the path is very easy to walk through a wonderful shady forrest along a little river, and you can not miss the falls, because it is only one path ! The place at the falls is really wonderful and chilly, espacially on a hot day. we paid 40 Cedi for two people.

Be advised: We just heard there has been a Robbery one or two Days ago. Three Tourists were threatened with Knifes, Passports and Money stolen but luckily not harmed. It happened only a few hundred Meters after the Reception. At the Moment it might be better to take a Guide, even if you just want to visit the lower Falls.

Awesome Waterfalls. Take a Shower directly under the Falls, incredible Feeling!
