Description

Mali embassy. UK passport handed in the morning, returned at 3pm. 30 days, post dated for 6500 ougiyas. visa office is second door on the left. application form completed at the time, 2 photos and a passport photocopy needed. location is next to a 'mauritel' shop.

charged 6500 ougiyas but passport has a stamp marked 5000 francs (about half the price). either way this is a cheap and simple visa by West African standards. only potential problem is you need to select an entry border crossing.

The denied me VISA (andorran passport). They told me that was really complicated to manage a Mali Tourist VISA from this embassy. They recommend me to go straight to Dakar, much easier.

Applying for visas. This is the place for Malian Visa in Nouakchott.

Very easy. 650 OG (new money) for 3 USA passports. 1 month visa. We could request the start date of the visa.

Very nice people. Took at total of 1 hour.

As others have said- 2 photos and one copy of passport. They asked where we planed to enter and we said Kayes.

FYI this visa is 25USD in Rabat and about 50 USD in Dakar and 18 USD here in Nouakchott. Go to the Imperial cafe around the corner while you wait. Great place, will add to the app.

This is the right location!

All nationalities: 6500 MRO (650MRO with new bills).

2 Photos + 1 Photocopy passport + 6500MRO. In the application you need to say the entry border. (Though in the visa doesn’t necessary say -I can’t see- which border you will enter).

We are travelling with public transport and we wanted to enter Mali by Senegal.
They first refused to make us a visa. They say that they only issue visas if you enter by Mauritania, or if you enter by Senegal but travel with your car.
They said that Mauritania/Mali border it’s safe if you go by bus but if you go with foreign private car maybe not, so in that case they will make you a visa to enter by Senegal. Any other case you should apply in Dakar.

After a long discussion (in french) with Visa officer and Embassador/Consul. Telling them that we want to enter by Senegal only for security reasons, that we won’t visit Senegal, they end up making us the visa!

We arrived at 9:30am and at 10:30 we had our visas.

I think they are open from Monday to Friday.
