Met travellers who heard conflicting information to getting a visa here via Facebook and so missed out while passing through.

Repeating much of the previous posts but to confirm, you can get a Nigerian visa here. I got mine for a UK passport, just turning up without an appointment with the following:

1. Apply online at https://visa.immigration.gov.ng and select Tourism Visa [5FA] and processing country as Conakry.
Fees: $166 USD (for UK passport).
2. Letter to Ambassador - inc name, occupation, start and end destination of entire trip, where you’re travelling through Nigeria inc what borders and the date you plan to arrive into the country.
3. Print out of both your visa application and payment receipt in step 1.
4. Print out hotel booking (I booked, then cancelled one for 2 nights in Lagos).
5. Print out of funds for the trip (I used a single bank statement page).
6. Print out of your Guinea e-visa.
7. Travel itinerary in lieu of a flight booking. I did a very brief overview of entire trip through Africa with rough dates and a more detailed, but made up itinerary of intended time in Nigeria.
8. 1,000,000 francs for ‘normal’ processing fee which they said would take a week. I paid 2,000,000 cash for express which was next day. Didn’t need photocopy of bank card. Got a receipt with it, so assume legit.

There is a guy on the street the other side of the roundabout by the embassy, who can photocopy and print from his laptop if you bring a usb.

Everything works fine for us here today. We got our two visa in 36 hours.
I just want to update the last comment because now when you came here to present all the documents you pay directly in cash the 1.000.000 (one week) or 2.000.000 (next day) at the embassy.
You also have to bring with you a photocopy of your credit card.
People are really nice here, it was a good experience, but yes also expensive :-)

Nigerian Visa approved in Conakry within 36 hours!
To all of you out there, driving north to south and hoping to cross Nigeria, here is the full process we went through to get our Nigerian visa. As long as you follow these steps, it should be quick and easy (and expensive...)
My wife and I (from the Netherlands) reached out to Mr Obinna by email before showing up ([email protected]). We asked if we needed to make an appointment, he told us we can just come to the embassy. You can apply only on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays.
See the photo of the list of 10 things you need to prepare. Since we drive by car I sent another email to ask about the flight ticket. Mr Obinna answered that we won't need it, but we need to hand in a schedule from start to end destination (in our case Netherlands - South Africa) with dates and cities we've been to. We made a rough plan, nothing too specific.
Before you visit the embassy, you need to fill in the online Visa form, mentioned on the list (see picture). Also make the payment of $108 and print both the application form and payment confirmation. In the online form they ask for a Letter of Invitation, including a person's name. We took the risk and filled in: "We don't know anyone personally in Nigeria" and it worked. No questions were asked.

We visited the embassy on a Wednesday, handed in all the documents. They said we can get it next week Tuesday and pay 1 million GNF ($110), or get the visa tomorrow and pay 2 million GNF ($220). We decided to pick it up next day, since staying in Conakry is expensive too. You then need to go to a bank for the money transfer, 15 min walk, and pay in cash. Make sure you get the receipt and bring it to the embassy. Once you give it at the reception, you're done.
The next day we picked up our visas at 3pm. Easy and quick!
Hope this is useful to any of you!

Notes:
・You need to schedule an appointment before visiting the embassy. The date they assign can be 3 weeks later or just a few days away.
In my case, it was set for 22 days later, but I inquired about the possibility of an earlier date. 2 weeks later, they offered me for 5 days earlier date, and that was just 2 days away. Fortunately, I was close enough to Conakry to make it.
A friend of mine emailed them on a Thursday and managed to secure an appointment for the following Monday, which was only 4 days away.

・Payment is only accepted at UBA bank. Bring USD cash and Guinea Francs to UBA and deposit them into the account they provide after applying. Make sure to get receipts for the payment (they may not issue unless you ask), and then submit these receipts to the Nigerian embassy.

・1.Application letter to the Consul: Write a letter to the Consul, including your name, passport number, the purpose of applying for a Nigerian tourist visa, and the desired start date for the visa. The secretary can assist you in composing this letter if you are not prepared.

・For the flight ticket: Even if you plan to enter Nigeria by land, it's still necessary to prepare a flight ticket or an equivalent document. They typically issue a visa for travelers coming directly from Guinea to Nigeria. However, they understand that you only need a visa and will accept a flight itinerary in place of an actual booked ticket. You can simply print out the details of the flight you intend to book (without actually booking it) and provide it to them.
If you require a booked ticket, some web services offer dummy tickets for as low as $5.
You can still truthfully provide your actual travel itinerary, including entry and exit by land and sea, in the "7. Itinerary while in Nigeria" section.
