Description

Very steep and narrow road up to 32%!
4.5t limited, heavy big rig not recommended. Did it with a Bremach low gear hardly made it. If you have to stop no chance to start again. Google leeds you there if you want to climb towards the top of Medellin or Guatape if you come from Bobosa. Avoid this road!

Agree. This road is super steep. Locals said it’s now not connected the the autopista. We turned around and took Ruta 60 out of Medellín.

DO NOT GO THROUGH COPACABANA on your way to the campgrounds that are in Santa Elena. We thought we read the comments on the campground correctly and were all good. We were coming from Villa de Leyva (east).

This was the most stressful driving experience of my life. After the huge first hill, it just gets worse. Took my Ford Transit through there and we ONLY made it due to AWD, the EcoBoost engine, consistent 4-5000 RPMs in first gear, honking at every blind corner, and loads of prayer to any god that would listen.

I love offroading. I always take the roads people say to avoid and thrive. We took this by accident. Never again.

You can’t turn around. Too steep and too narrow. Once you commit to that first hill, you are in hell for the next 15+ minutes. The only way is up until the “road” drops you off on some of the most uneven dirt road driving I’ve ever seen. I will forever have trust issues with Google Maps from now on.
