They work from Monday until Friday from 8:30am - 5pm without lunchbreak.
The price per hour approx. 40.000 Pesos.
Spareparts in Puerto Madryn/Patagonia are very very expensive.
Rear brake pads are 218.000 Pesos, in Germany ~40.000 Pesos.
So come good prepared.
Paying in cash or credit card (15% extra charge).
The Team is good , friendly, helpful and they work fast (for South America standard).
Only spanish speaking.
We came with 2 RV and they startet the work immediately. We sleept 6 nights in front of the garage and had access to water and the garage bathroom.
Supermarket ,Laundry ( not on IOverlander ask Ruben ) and Playground nearby.
Its not the best mechanic ever but it works really well.

Muy atento y agradable. Identificó los problemas acertadamente .Organiza muy bien a su equipo y el precio es muy competitivo!
Vino con nosotros a probar la motorhome para asegurarse que todo estaba arreglado y funcionando como debía.
Recomendado.

Ruben was not there but his employees helped me out with changing a wheel bearing (I brought the part with me) of my VW T4 Syncro, which turned out to be a hard job. Ruben’s daughter let us sleep in our van in the workshop because the job was not done before 7PM.
Would go there again.
Nice dogs btw (I normally don’t like dogs).

Ruben is the most helpful guy you'll find around ! He was ready to find solutions and go deep into the details to make sure our car is in the best conditions. You can trust him; he knows what he is talking about when dealing with mecanics.

Very good mechanic, very recommendable. We had an issue with our differential which included the change of a shipped part. It was done within one day and the price was reasonable.

Nous sommes venu sans rendez-vous. Il nous a pris en charge de suite. Nous avons fait changer l'huile avec le filtre et le liquide de refroidissement. Nous avions également notre van qui "broutait". Il nous a changé les bougies et les câbles dans la foulée. Ruben et son équipe sont très sympathiques et aidant. Prix correct.

Cependant, un mois après nous voilà à les rechanger au Chili parce que les références qu'il a prise ne sont pas les bonnes par rapport à notre véhicule. C'est du bricolage. Nous ne le recommandons pas de tout !

We came without an appointment. We were taken care of immediately. We changed the oil with the filter and the coolant. We had also a drop in power to acceleration. He changed candles and cables. Ruben and his team are very friendly and helpful. Fair price.

However, one month later we are to replace them in Chile because the references he has taken are not the right on our vehicle. We do not recommend it all !

Great mechanic! They changed our oil and found us a light we were not able to before. Since we didn’t buy the oil before, they drove us around to get some. Ruben made sure his team checked if everything was working properly and was very friendly. Fair price!

Ruben and his team did a good job and repaired our Pickup, which had some damages from a rodent animal. (some cables + splash water tube were bitten through) We met this nice animals in the night on our way back from Valdes to Puerto Madryn. Ruben charged us 1000,- ARG$ and one guy gave us helpful tips for our further journey to Ushuaia and northwards. We can warmly recommend Ruben and his team!

Ruben and his team made a very good job in our van, and we were very welcomed !

They found immediately the problem and we paid a reasonable price ! We spend some days with the team and good moments !

We recommand this mechanic !

We had an injection pump problem, and had to wait 3 days and pay 8000$ARS (he took us 1500$/hour, only in cash) for they do the job, but M. Ruben told us the part he had to change can’t be found in Argentina, so he put us another kind of pump. 30mn after leaving the garage, the problem came back because one of the piece he put doesn’t really fit... he told us indeed we had to change again the pump in another country... May be it was the only solution...
He doesn’t communicate a lot (only in spanish) but he seems honest and he knows IOverlander. He takes his time to do good job... We met other overlanders there, you have WiFi and bathrooms, so all in all there was good sides... you’ll just have to be patient.

Ruben and his team helped us to fix several problems with our campervan. They worked very hard for several days in order to solve a complex problem (4x4) correctly. We were allowed to camp in front of their workshop and to use their toilet. Muchas gracias Ruben!

We had a problem with our VW-Camper Van (T 3) and were refered to Ruben by the official VW representation in Puerto Madryn. As the problem was not clear in the beginning (we thought is was the drive shaft) he worked on the car for three days in very systematic way informing us about every step and promising nothing. In the end it was the gear he disassebled completly and could fix the problem. We felt that we paid a reasonable price for all the work hours he spent. Furthermore he was very helpful (driving us to the campground), always in good mood and very patient with our poor Spanish.
All in all by our experience we can fully recommend him.

Ruben's Garage ([email protected]) - a mechanic for all types of cars and 4x4. Engines, brakes, etc. Ruben is a very nice guy, reliable, friendly and with good humor. Speaks only Spanish, but his lovely daughters help to translate. Nice atmosphere. He lets you stay in your van in the garage, but too small for Big Rigs inside; they can stay outside.
