Beautiful, spacious boondocking near Pyramid Lake. It’s about an hour north of Reno. Only staying one night, but if we’re back in this area, we’d likely stay a few nights. Good AT&T and Verizon coverage. Easy access off Hwy 447.
Great for all size rigs. We’re in a 40’ RV with a tow.

Quiet place and not far from the road. we were alone but there is room for several RVs.
Report Check-Inawesome place that is easy to get to though scary looking at first. we have stayed a few times and enjoyed a quiet night with cell reception and only occasional visitors
Report Check-InGreat location just outside the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation. Very peaceful. We were the only ones here and enjoyed a nice sunset and sunrise. AT&T cell reception was spotty, but that was fine. No facilities, but we are self-contained in our Sprinter van. We also enjoyed nice views of Pyramid Lake on the drive to the site.
Also, nice rock formations around the site which were fun to explore, and which also shielded us from the main road (which had very little traffic on a Monday).
Report Check-InThe road to the site is good. The turnoff is just past the sign stating the driver is leaving the Paiute Shoshone Reservation. The site sits down behind some weird rocks, which provide both privacy and amazement. Some seem petrified. I think the area could support 6 rigs, without concern. I like it better with just ours, however.
Research shows that the “rocks” are actually “tufa” formations, as found in Mono Lake, CA
