Small rustic campground with wonderful hosts Duke and Sharon. We found this campground after stopping by the very busy / no vacancy Gilbert Ray campground and the check-in office gave us an info sheet of nearby campgrounds.

Tucson Snowbird Nest has 5-stars on Google and our experience was wonderful too. We called and checked on availability and had a spot. We enjoyed it so much we stayed another night. Quiet space with flush toilets, showers, potable water. Good cell service on Verizon. And loved the lemons Duke shared with us! Definitely recommend and will stay again when we are in the area.

Quietest campground. Safe- completely fenced and gated. Clean bathhouse with hot water. Level lots with water and electric. Friendly host. No complaints.

The owner Duke and wife are wonderful host ! The campsite is safe and showers / bathrooms are clean . Picnic table , water, electricity on my spot . Payed 30$ /night . This will always be the spot I will choose, with my converted Ford Transit 250, when I’m around Tucson . Tents are also allowed here

Love the laid back vibe in this casual, rustic campground. The bath house with 2 showers/toilets was super clean and beautifully rustic. HOT (free) showers! The only gotcha for moose sensitive folk like me was the neighboring dogs barking. (These are residents who live in the area, not in the CG.) Rough road going in (lots of potholes).

Greatly enjoyed my week-long stay here. Lovely rustic campground with large sites, pretty desert landscaping, and some views of surrounding mountains. Also conveniently located to hiking the northern portion of Saguaro National Park West. Wonderful hot shower and impeccably clean bathroom. Duke was incredibly welcoming, as were his beautiful grandchildren who helped get me settled in. Will definitely be back if returning to the area.

Really sweet place and host. It’s a little hit at this time of year but $30 a night for electric, water and sewer is excellent value with a nice shower and flush toilet too. Pretty garden.

Perfect spot to come in from the desert to regroup and shower and use as a home base to see the sights of Tucson like the Pima aviation/space museum and San Xavier mission church. Duke was a very welcoming host and was always on hand to help. Thanks for the lovely stay. Will be back.

Everything the OP said and more. Great placement for west Saguaro NP. A labor of love indeed. Unique and probably can’t be duplicated anywhere else.
