doable up to the first site coming off dillahunty rd in a sedan just drive very slowly and carefully or you will get stuck. cell signal 1-2 bars with mint mobile but fast enough to stream video.

Perfect, private spot to turn in when seeing Guadalupe and Carlsbad NPs. A bit windy, but felt quieter and safer (could let my pup roam) than the more popular Chosa campground at the start of Dillahunty.

Cool place with lots of spots. High clearance is a MUST for anything off the main road. We were fine with 2WD but definitely one of the rougher roads our van has done. The network of accessory roads is very confusing and frequently interrupted by impassable ditches or ending seemingly randomly. For this reason, we would recommend just going out the way you came in. We tried to take a shortcut and had to turn around twice. We made our own fire ring in a clearing, and had a beautiful sunset. Spots for camping aren’t super obvious or distinguishable from the rest of the landscape. We just picked an area that had less plant life and went off the road a bit. We could see two other vehicles from our spot in the distance, but felt very secluded and private.

Further down dillahunty rd, found this side road. Bumpy but doable slowly in camper van. Nice views, quiet. Intermittent LTE.
