Benin
This is a museum about the Abomey history, it's inside one of the many palaces around, but here they are artifacts of former kings and explain the different compartments in the complex, including a few voodoo-related burials. There is an English guide. Entrance fee is removed, but they ask for a gift to clean the place. I paid 1500 CFA as gift and another 2000 CFA for the guide as a tip.
We don't have any photos of this place yet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
It’s possible to camp in front of the entrance. The traffic stops in the night. So it is ok to spend a night there when you finde nothing else.
Report Check-InThe museum is close to renovations. You can take a tour around the palace, lasting about 2 hours. The guide gave a lot of information about each king and the place. They asked 10k first and finally bargained to 5k for the tour. It can be tough on a sunny day...
Report Check-InWe really liked our visit here. They have an official price list now. 3000cfa per person for foreign tourists. They have guides that speak perfect English. The tour takes one hour and they will explain everything about the Danxome kingdom.
The entrance is a bit difficult to find. It's the bookshop or clothes store on maps.me next to the museum.
