Report Check-In

Department of Transportation has placed a padlocked gate across entrance.

Report Check-In

Since last post there’s a locked gate, inaccessible.

Report Check-In

As described. Private pull out with epic views

Report Check-In

Good sunset, pretty quiet, not in sight of the highway, there is enaugh firewood to find ;)

Report Check-In

The entrance is more difficult to take when you arrive from the north. For those who arrive from the north I advise you to turn around in the big pullout on the right. The place offers a superb view. In my opinion the best of 3 spots and especially the quietest. Thanks to the tree we are sheltered from the look and sound of the road.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Room for 3-4 vehicles. Minimal road noise

Report Check-In

Just off the highway on top of a small hill. Road noise was minimal room for maybe 3 vehicles

this is a Department of Transportation staging area, and is sporadically in use when they have road repairs, but 99% of the time there's nothing going on. this applies to all three nearby turnouts. i have talked to DOT staff who drive through, asking them if it's OK to stay, and they say they have been instructed not to bother the campers (that's us). you can stay longer than the state specified 12 hours parking limit because it's not on the highway right of way. fair warning - the DOT has to do something with road kill, and sometimes they dump them in one of these three places. if you smell something funky, try one of the other nearby pullouts. i have been staying here for seven years in June/July, never been bothered.

Report Check-In

We were here. Fantastic. Beautiful see views.

Report Check-In

Holy moly, favorite site yet. Best sunset I’ve seen in a while (foggy summers on the coast!)
You can only access the turnoff from north bound lane.

Report Check-In

This spot is choice and feels very safe. Follow the gps coordinates to a T because it is a straight pull off to the right up a hill so you don’t want to miss it! Very secure location with an amazing view of the ocean! Road noise really isn’t that bad either.

Report Check-In

small pullout off the highway up a hill and out of view of the road , great view ! space for 3 cars .

Report Check-In

Several other pull-offs nearby which may get confusing, ended up accidentally staying in a large gravel lot just south of this that worked quite well, but walked over to this, slightly steep one lane gravel incline to circular drive with grassy area in the middle and a little pull off to one side, exposed yet private, saw one other camper parked there from our spot. No signs. I'll be walking in to scout this one before pulling my RV in next time I come through to avoid a traffic jam.

Report Check-In

Stayed one nice. great spot with views and very quiet, even in the morning. only one other tent here.

Report Check-In

Great location. Spent the night there with 2 other vehicles. Highway noise wasnt bad at all. The wind wasnt bad either (could have been lucky). I would highly reccomend this stop.

Report Check-In

Great overnight spot along the coast! We wanted to give it a 2017 check-in to see if you could still park there, and you can. It looks like a highway maintainance lot maybe? Great overlook from here, but the usual animal carcasses on the edge of the lot. It was calm when we were here, so our pop-top was fine, but that's something to consider if there is wind. Traffic dies down at night until the early morning truck delivery rush-hour. There is also another potential parking spot to the south (smaller) of here and a larger one to the north. No signs.

Report Check-In

Info for pop up roofs and roof top tents vehicles: Can get really windy, we didn't open our pop up roof.

Report Check-In

incredible view. Very quiet during all the night!

Report Check-In

Great oceanview pullout from the 101. Was one other rv camping, but for the rest nicely hidden from the road. Bit windy and could hear traffic but as an overnight boondocksite not to bad.
