I needed a place to park for the night and most of the reststops on the way to Dallas were right on the highway. I stumbled upon this one on accident and found it to be secluded from the highway with trees, and completely safe. They have an on duty janitor 24/7 and cameras and security lights. The facilities (restrooms, picnic tables/grill, tiny museum, and vending machines) are open 24/7 as well and there’s a playground for kids. It’s also pet friendly and welcomes all types of overlanders (they have a separate side for cars and a separate side for larger vehicles like trucks and RV’s).
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Very quiet rest area. I didn't hear interstate traffic nor idling trucks.
T-mobile service 5G UC (4 of 5 bars)
Report Check-InGreat spot. Large parking lot. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff here.
Note to hat this is an Eastbound location (I didn’t see that) but it’s got an overpass only a mile down the road so it’s easy to get to.
There is a Westbound test stop location that we did pass to get here. I had the GPS programmed to this spot , so we will stay here tonight
Report Check-InBrand new rest stop. Can access westbound from exit 352 and then work back to it by getting on east bound from Blondell. Takes very little time. Not a lot of parking for new rest stop on the car side. Very bright and cars are near freeway, so a bit loud. Wish they would reverse that and put trucks closer to freeway. Texas allows 24 hours in rest stops. Texas Transportation Code 545.411. 3-4 bars 5G AT&T
Edit. So getting back on I20 west is about a 3+ mile loop and it is easy to miss the left on Blondell.
Definitely one of the nicest rest areas with clean bathrooms. Road noise and arrest off is always A thing. Lots of security cameras in and outside as well.
Report Check-InNice overnighting spot. Super clean restrooms. We slept on the car side away from the 18 wheelers. Recommended...
Report Check-InNice spot to park overnight. Probably the most clean rest stop we've ever been to! Good Verizon reception.
